The Credit People – What is It?

The Credit People is quickly becoming one of the top names in the credit repair world, mostly because of its flat-fee pricing, money-back guarantee and seven-day trial. These are all options that you don’t see very often in the credit repair world and they are options that many customers like seeing from their credit repair service.

How Does The Credit People Work?

The Credit People is no different from other credit repair services. Fill out an application online or call in to have an agent walk you through the process. The Credit People will pull your credit reports and an agent will go over them with you to pick out the best plan of action when it comes to the negative items on your reports.

Then, The Credit People will go through the regular motions; negotiate with your lenders, dispute the items, fix any errors or go after any legal loopholes it knows of to help get your negative items removed. This process is repeated every month until you are satisfied.

The Credit People Services & Prices

The Credit People only offers one type of service, so that’s what you will get. It does, however, offer an interesting array of pricing options to choose from. You can choose a seven-day trial for $19 to test out the service, although don’t expect any miracles in those seven days. You can also go with the normal month-to-month service for $59 per month. You can also choose the flat fee option, which is $299 for six months. With it, you get the option of a 100-percent money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the services in any way.

Whichever plan you choose, you will get a dedicated agent that will help you through the process, give you tips on how to improve your credit yourself and answer any questions you may have along the way.

Is The Credit People Legit?

This is actually an interesting question, because there are some questions around The Credit People. The BBB score of F raises questions from some, although it’s based on only two customer reviews, so how seriously can you take it?

There is also a question of whether the flat fee option adheres to the Credit Repair Organization Act, which says that no credit repair service can charge up front for work that has not been done. However, the 100-percent money-back guarantee may be why the flat fee option is OK.

The company has been around for more than 15 years, so that lends to its legitimacy as well, and has positive user reviews, but there are also a fair share of complaints as well. Our advice? If you hire The Credit People, make sure to keep on top of them and make sure everything is going as planned. If you feel uncomfortable with the service at any point, cancel.

Common The Credit People Reviews

From professional product review sites, The Credit People generally does pretty well, mostly because of its low cost, trial and guarantee. These are generally positive reviews that speak highly of the company.

There are a wide range of positive The Credit People reviews across the web, but those are often coupled with a range of bad reviews as well. Many of those bad reviews, though, are from people who went into credit repair with inflated expectations. Credit repair is never a guarantee. If negative items on your credit report are legitimate, there is always a higher chance that they will not be removed. Keep that in mind when searching for a credit repair service.

Is The Credit People Right For You?

There are a couple of questions you need to ask yourself before deciding if The Credit People is right for you:

Can you try before buying?

No other credit repair service offers a trial to test out the service, so The Credit People’s $19 seven-day trial is great for people who want to try before buying. Just keep in mind that not much can be done in seven days, so it may not make your decision any easier, and if you decide to cancel, you are out $19.

Do you need extras like credit report monitoring or identity theft?

The Credit People doesn’t offer any extras, like credit report monitoring or identity theft, but that is the reason it can keep its pricing so low, so you should weigh your need for these extras against your need to keep the price down.

Are you looking for a money-back guarantee?

As we’ve said, there is no guarantee when it comes to credit repair. If you absolutely want a money-back guarantee, go with the flat fee option with The Credit People. The company does say the guarantee applies if you are unhappy for any reason, but read the fine print before you sign. If you want a legit 90-day money-back guarantee, try Sky Blue Credit Repair.

What are you hoping to get out of The Credit People?

The best you can hope to get out of The Credit People is straight-up credit repair at a good price, which is plenty for most people. If you are looking for extras and proven customer satisfaction, you might check out one of the other credit repair services on the list.
